Derma Roller: Needle Your Face for Radiant Skin

I recently stumbled on a unique idea in skin treatment known as the derma roller that totally blew my mind and I decided to share the derma roller on this blog to assist anyone thinking about using this device.

Derma Rolling
Derma rolling is a beauty treatment method that is known to many people as Micro Needling and skin rolling. It is actually helpful to cure skin imperfections like acne, stretch-marks and scars by piercing the skin with very small needles.

Derma Roller
A dermaroller is a skin needling system with numerous tiny micro needles. Derma rollers are available in needle lengths between 0.13 and 3 mm.

Excellent microneedles can make tiny holes in the skin that causes the skin to produce new cells and collagen to repair itself. Eventually, with microneedles, your skin makes new skin tissues which result in younger looking skin.

How to Use Derma Roller
The micro needle roller or derma roller is really a highly effective device which can recover the skin to spotless glow easily and quickly. In case you decide to work with it at home, you will need to see the instruction given.

Working with the Derma roller is very simple, and will not need any specific items or groundwork.

Ø  Before you use derma roller the first time, be sure that you first completely clean the face using your favorite facial wash. It is possible to leave the toning and moisturizing for afterwards, right after you've done with the micro needling treatment.

Ø  Wash the derma roller head under hot water prior to making use of it on the skin. This guarantees that the needles are cleaned again for use.

Ø  You possibly can use the derma roller on the face and body, but you need to be cautious never to work with it on the delicate skin of the lip area and eyes, both of which could be harmed by the Derma roller. Use the external pain killer if you need to, and then use the derma roller four times in the straight, horizontal, and vertical directions. You don't have to use much pressure, and routinely using this process can give you wonderful results in a short time.

Ø  Applying a moisturizer or any other skin care product right after the derma roller can be a smart way to boost the end results of that product. Derma roller raises the usage of those substances through the skin, enabling you to get the complete benefit of any other treatment.

After Using the Derma Roller
After you have used the roller, you must wash or relax your skin that you have treated in cold water. If the skin has dried out, you should use moisturizers and other skin care items which will be easily utilized because of the Derma Roller treatment. Lotions that make use of vitamin A are usually a common choice due to its identified regenerative properties.

Adhering to these directions and anymore which come with the derma roller, you'll end up on the way to better and more radiant skin.

How to Use Clip-In Hair Extensions

Ever look at celebrity hairstyles on the red carpet and wonder: How on earth does she have such voluminous, flowing, lust-worthy hair? Or, how did her straight chin-length bob turn into a long, wavy look? They are, as you might assume, fake as in they couldn't be achieved without the help of hair extensions.

I've always stayed far away from clip-in hair extensions. I recently discovered that several of my friends keep clip-ins handy for getting thicker, longer-looking hair for a night, and they always look good—but I still wasn't entirely sold on the idea of wearing something in my hair.

That all changed when I read the tips of hairstylist Ken Paves.
Now check the tips of hairstylist Ken Paves....

Create a good base  You need to give the hair some grip so that the combs on the back of the extension have something to hold onto and don't just slip out. Paves recommends spraying a medium- to strong-hold hair spray and using a comb to tease the area where you'll apply the clips.

Be a master of disguise  Fine-haired ladies like myself need to be more careful that the top of the extension doesn't peek through our natural hair. Teasing the section of hair just above the clip and just below it will provide the necessary coverage and also give you some extra hold.

Use your heat tools  The most important step is to blend your natural hair and the extension together. Paves wrapped both my hair and the extension around his flatiron, to make sure they flowed into one another and to ensure that each layer had the same loose, wavy texture. Use a large-barrel curling iron for bigger curls or, if you want everything to be superstraight, run a flatiron over both your hair and the extension in the traditional way.

Shake it up  When you're finished, use your fingers to shake your hair and the extension, allowing it to fall naturally into place.

Makeup for Hooded Eyes

Do you have hooded eyes? If the skin above your eyelids covers most of your lids when your eyes are open, then you have something called hooded eyes. It can be hard to apply makeup to eyes like these, but this will give you an idea of how to do so. These tips will make your eyes look more 'open'.

1- Smooth foundation evenly on clean eyelids. Follow with an eye makeup primer for color that lasts. Pat concealer a notch or two lighter than your skin tone underneath eyes to camouflage dark circles. This alone helps open up eyes. Dust translucent powder under your eye area to ensure your concealer stays in place.

2-Make sure eyebrows are groomed and shaped to frame your eyes and face. Define brows by filling them in with an eyebrow pencil or powder. This eliminates any sparse patches between hairs as well.

3- Apply a light eye-shadow from lash line to crease. Avoid metallic and frosty finishes as these tend to fill in the lines on the eye. On the outer corners of eyes, stipple on a mid tone version of your first color. You want to stay away from too-dark colors because these drag your eyes down. Press on the mid tone color with a flat headed eye-shadow brush in a sideways V shape. Blend inwards over crease area. Move slightly outwards and upwards at the edges for a subtle lift.

4- Bring more light to eyes by dabbing a flesh tone highlighter on the inner corners of eyes. Pat away any evident lines. Gently run a white eye pencil along inner rims of your lower lash lines.

5- Define eyes by working a creamy highly pigmented black pencil into lash lines. Go in between lashes. You don't want an obvious or thick line. You want just enough product to bring out the shape of your eyes. Curl eyelashes to further open eyes. Use mascara on top lashes only, making sure your application is clump-free and light. Two coats are sufficient.

Note Avoid using a dark color all over a hooded eye if your purpose is enhancement. Darkness weighs it down further.

Guest Post: Health and Beauty Benefits of Coconut Oil

Coconut oil has been used for years in India for its numerous health and body care benefits, and to some degree, it has been incorporated in mass-produced products for sale in the Western world. Coconut oil is catching on as a quick-fix for a variety of different reasons all on its own lately.

Coconut oil is made up of lauric acid and a unique form of saturated fat – a form that's actually good for your body. When buying coconut oil, choose virgin coconut oil instead of processed coconut oil. It has more health benefits.

Hair Care

Damaged and Dry Hair

Coconut oil can be used to help treat damaged, dry hair and split ends. To use coconut oil, massage a tablespoon size amount into split ends. Leave the coconut oil on your hair for about 30 minutes before showering and washing it out.

If the coconut oil is difficult to massage into your hair, try putting it in the microwave on a medium setting for 10 to 15 seconds in a microwave-safe bowl to soften it.

Dry Scalp

Coconut oil is very helpful for treating a dry scalp because it contains fat content that can moisturize hair. The process of using coconut oil for your scalp is relatively easy, but you may need to do it for a few days before you notice a major improvement.

To use coconut oil to treat a dry scalp, rub just enough of it on to coat your scalp. There’s no need to coat your hair at the same time unless it’s dry too. Let the coconut oil stay on your hair for about 20 minutes.

Re-apply the same amount of coconut oil after 20 minutes and comb out any tangles in your hair. Cover your head with a shower cap or put a towel down on your pillow to keep the oil from leaving stains.

In the morning, simply wash your hair like you normally would. Repeat the treatment for a few days if necessary.

If you find that using coconut oil helps keep your scalp from drying out, try using the coconut oil treatment about once per week. Using coconut oil about once per week can help keep your scalp from drying out altogether in many cases.

Skin Care

Severely Dry Skin

Coconut oil is moisturizing, and it can help people with very dry skin get the smooth, touchable feel that they want. Coconut oil can also be beneficial when used topically by people with eczema or psoriasis. People with normal or oily skin should avoid it – it can make the skin a bit oily if you don't really need it.

To apply coconut oil to dry skin, apply a small amount to affected areas in the morning and evening after you shower. Applying coconut oil after you shower is best because it can help seal in moisture. Make sure you allow the coconut oil to absorb into your skin before dressing or going to bed.

Coconut oil can also be used throughout the day as needed.

Exfoliating Scrub

Many people spend a small fortune on premade skin care products like exfoliating scrubs. If you have dry skin, you can make your own effective scrub and save money in the process.

Combine equal parts coconut oil and baking soda in a small container and bowl and thoroughly mix them together. To use the scrub, gently massage it onto your face over the skin before washing with lukewarm water.

Other Health Benefits

Weight Loss

Using coconut oil instead of other fats to cook food may be able to help you lose weight. While coconut oil does contain fat, its triglycerides don't stay in the bloodstream, and are immediately processed for energy by the liver. While olive oil is pretty healthy, coconut oil can aid in weight loss in ways that olive oil can't.

Improved Digestion

Coconut oil may also aid in digestion and help you avoid problems like irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Coconut oil can help improve digestion because it is anti-microbial meaning that it can actually help kill bacteria, parasites and fungi that can cause stomach problems and IBS.

How to Remove Stains from Teeth at Home

If a mouth full of yellow stained teeth are spoiling your confidence, then you need to take action. Many stains on teeth can be eliminated quickly and effectively with consistent brushing and flossing. Although for stained teeth rely on the magnitude of the stain.

The Major Reasons For Stains On Teeth

There are two major factors to consider when referring to stains on teeth, one are the stains you don't have any control over and two the stains you do have control over.

1- The stains on teeth you haven't any control over include an antibiotic called tetracycline, which may cause irreversible teeth staining. Also a condition called fluoresces which develops from a high fluoride concentration in drinking water, this will lead to a yellow discoloration of the teeth.

2-Basically anything that stains your teeth are usually what you enjoy, red wine, tea, coffee, and nicotine. Acidic foods, sweet foods, switching between cold and hot drinks will cause the pores on the enamel of teeth to open and close, which will trap tiny bits inside.

How to Remove Stains

1- Brush and floss your teeth 2 times a day at least, or after every time you eat, this could help remove plague and tarter building up. This also cleans food particles away which may cause dragon breath also.

2- Bleaching treatments, either DIY teeth lightening or professional applied teeth lightening treatments are awfully useful in lightening teeth. Mixing a small amount of hydrogen peroxide with enough baking soda to make a paste, and gently polishing your teeth with it.

3- Cut up a strawberry and rub it all along your teeth. Wait about 20 minutes and brush. You need to brush not only to see the results, but also because the sugar is not good for your teeth.

4- Consume more of foods which will be rub off against the surface of the teeth as you chew on them. For instance, crunchy foods like carrots, apples, pears, etc. As these foods rub off on your teeth, they can help you get rid of teeth stains to some extent. In addition to that, they help to clean the hidden nooks and corners of the mouth and to dislodge any food particles that may be sticking in those crevices. Consuming more of chewy foods (like chocolates, soft chew candies, etc.) which stick to the teeth, on the other hand, can become causes of teeth stains and yellowing.

How to take care of your hands in the winter

Cold, windy weather as well as dry indoor heat can really dehydrate your skin in the wintertime. And though many women worry most about the skin on their faces, you shouldn't neglect your hands either. Follow these tips to take care of your hands in the winter.

Wear gloves

Make a habit of wearing gloves every time you go outside. Even if you are out for just a few minutes, the elements can do some damage. Also, be sure to always wear rubber gloves when washing dishes and doing other household cleaning. The hot water and chemicals in detergents and cleaners can dehydrate and damage your hands.

Use a humidifier

Humidify the air in your house. You can use an actual humidifier or just place a saucer of water near your heater. The extra moisture in the air will help stop the dry heat from drying out your skin -- including your hands.

Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize

Start a routine that every time you wash your hands, you automatically use a hand lotion or cream. Look for products made with natural ingredients.

Aspirin Mask

Aspirin mask is not something new, but many people are not aware of this amazing mask and the potential it has for clearing you skin! Costing mere pennies per application, it is a quick, easy, and effective way to keep your skin smooth and acne free.
The ingredient that makes the magic happen is salicylic acid, a beta hydroxy acid (BHA) that helps clean out pores and battle acne-causing bacteria.
Step One:  There are two main ingredients in the aspirin mask: water, and uncoated or lightly-coated aspirin. I rarely come across uncoated aspirin, so I use a lightly-coated generic brand, and it works great. For your face, all you need are 2-3 tablets.
Step Two: The aspirin tablets will dissolve in water, so you don’t really to put a lot of work into preparation. It’s best to use a small bowl, I happen to do all the mixing in my hand. Just a few drops of water will do.

Step Three: Massage the tablets in your hand until they're dissolved and form a mushy paste. There isn't a binding agent, so the paste will be fairly loose and flaky.

Step Four: Apply! Let rest for about five minutes, and then rinse away. The dried mask will be powdery, so be careful! Alternately, you can incorporate Aloe Vera or honey with the mushed up aspirin to act as healing binding agents.
As you're rinsing, use the mask as a scrub. You'll need to use a washcloth to follow up and make sure you've removed the mask entirely.
Step Five: Moisturize and you're set!
The Aspirin Mask is quick and works – I'll do the mask a night or two before an big event- its like an at-home mini-peel that makes your skin so smooth and let your foundation glide on. You can do the mask as often as you'd like, as long as it doesn't overly irritate your skin. Of course, if you've never done the mask before it's best to do a patch test for allergies first on your neck.

Precaution:

Do not use this if you are pregnant, nursing, have issues with blood thinning, or have Reyes disease. Discontinue use if you experience irritation. Although the rate of absorption is slower through the skin, aspirin WILL absorb into your so keep advised dosage amounts in mind. I am a peer and not a medical professional, and my advice should not be taken as medical advice.
